The wife of John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman has hit out at the media - begging reporters to stop contacting her.
Gloria Hiroko Chapman married 53-year-old Mark just 18 months before he shot Lennon dead outside the ex-Beatle's New York home in December 1980.
The pair has remained married ever since - though she now lives in seclusion in Hawaii, where they wed.
But Gloria is losing her temper with the constant media presence outside her Honolulu home, telling one photojournalist from the New York Daily News: "I felt like God wanted me to come over and talk to you... I think you know my name, otherwise you wouldn't be here getting a picture of me."
She then responded with a message for the press, adding: "Only one thing, ask them to stop calling me."
Earlier this week (begs11Aug08), the newspaper revealed that incarcerated Chapman has been enjoying conjugal visits with his wife at New York's Attica Correctional Facility for the last 16 years.
He was denied parole for the fifth time on Tuesday (12Aug08) and is expected to serve at least two more years before he can make another appeal for release.
Chapman was originally sentenced to 20-years-to-life.
