John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman told parole officers he doesn't deserve to be freed.

Chapman, who was convicted of murdering the former beatle in 1980, was refused parole in New York earlier this month (OCT04).

Lennon's widow Yoko Ono made a plea to officials to keep Chapman behind bars - and the 49-year-old agreed he should stay in prison.

Chapman told officers, "I deserve nothing, because of the pain and suffering I caused."
