The ‘Roseanne’ actor is headed across the pond to take on David Mamet’s 'American Buffalo'.
US actor John Goodman has just been announced as the latest addition to the cast of American Buffalo, beginning this April at London’s Wyndham’s theatre. It will mark the first time the actor has appeared on the London stage, with his previous theatre credits including Waiting for Godot and musical Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, in the US.

Goodman will join already announced cast member, ‘Homeland’s’ Damian Lewis and up and coming British actor Tom Sturridge. Directing will be Daniel Evans, with the production featuring sets and costumes by Paul Wills and lighting by Mark Henderson.
Written by David Mamet, American Buffalo examines the fickle nature of honour among thieves, following three small-time crooks as they plan their biggest heist.

Speaking in a statement Goodman said, “I’m delighted to be returning to the stage … in such a fantastic project with two brilliant British actors both of whom I’ve admired for some time. David Mamet is a writer I have loved throughout my career and so I’m thrilled to be bringing his work alive on stage.”
Sturridge, who earned rave reviews for his theatre debut in 2009’s Punk Rock, has most recently tread the boards in Orphans on Broadway, for which he earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.

“I think [American Buffalo] is dangerous and delicate, funny and frightening … I can’t wait to fight to make an audience feel about it as I do,” Sturridge, said in a statement.
American Buffalo runs from 16 April to 27 June 2015 at London's Wyndham’s theatre.
