LATEST: A woman who was ordered to stay away from Hollywood actor John Cusack has been officially charged with stalking the star. Emily Leatherman was also charged with petty theft and violating a restraining order in connection with her arrest outside the star's Malibu, California, mansion on Sunday (30Mar08). She is currently being held on $500,000 (GBP250,000) bail following an arraignment hearing on Wednesday (02Apr08). Authorities were called to the High Fidelity star's home after a taxi driver reported a passenger who failed to pay a fare. And as officers from Los Angeles County police department arrived at the scene, they were flagged down by Cusack who reported seeing Leatherman - the woman who was previously accused of stalking the actor. The 33-year-old was subsequently arrested. In July 2006, Cusack was granted a temporary restraining order stipulating Leatherman must stay at least 500 feet (150 metres) away from him, his home, his work, his car and offices or companies in which he does business. In court papers, Cusack accused her of "showing unusual interest by stalking, throwing long letters of interest over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside, making unannounced visits to offices of people I work with in an attempt to meet with me and listing my address as her own during a recent arrest". Leatherman was also arrested last year (07) outside the Beverly Hills, California, home of actor Tom Cruise, also on suspicion of violating a restraining order.
