'The Only Way Is Essex' star and club promoter Joey Essex was mugged for his Rolex watch in Hammersmith, West London by two armed men who pretended to be fans of the show.
The watch was snatched off the 21-year-old's wrist after he was thrown to the ground by the assailants following their requests for a fan photo when they noticed him pulling up in his car. "We did the picture and when I put some money in the parking ticket machine, the geezers got hold of me and threw me over", Joey recalled to The Sun. He went on to say that he didn't notice his watch was missing until he got up and threw a retaliatory punch at one of them. "When I hit one of them back, he got out a knife", he said. The Towie regular thinks the attackers may have been following him since spotting his car from the British TV show. A spokesperson for the police stated: "Officers from the Robbery Squad at Hammersmith and Fulham are investigating the incident".
This is only one of a string of recent attacks on the Towie stars. Most recently, Lydia Bright had the window of her boutique smashed by a teenager causing a brief scare for the celeb. The vandal was detained and arrested. Similarly, Lauren Goodger's beauty salon was firebombed just after it had opened. Possibly the most serious of all the attacks, however, were involving sisters Billie and Sam Faiers when they were brutally beaten up in a nightclub by a gang of girls whilst crowds gathered to watch.
