GIA MANTEGNA, the American actress and daughter of actor Joe Mantegna, has been named 'Miss Golden Globe 2011'. The 20-year-old is one of the stars of the 'TeenNick' series 'Gigantic', and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Thursday (9th December 2010) that she would now be taking part in the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards as an 'on-stage assistant'.

The honour is traditionally given to the offspring of a celebrity, and Gia's father Joe has starred in the likes of 'The Godfather 3', 'Airheads', and most recently, 'The Simpsons Movie'. Previous recipients of the award have included Rumer Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, as well as Freddie Prinze Jr, and Melanie Griffith, the daughter of actress Tippi Hedren. Mantegna made her acting debut at 13-years-old, when she starred in the 2003 movie 'Uncle Nino' alongside Anne Archer and her father. She went on to have roles in 2006's Unaccompanied Minors', as well as in the hit comedy '13 Going on 30', with JENNIFER GARNER.
