Days after Taylor Swift was pictured cozying up to Tom Hiddleston, rumours about the end of her relationship with Calvin Harris have gotten even more interesting. According to TMZ, Taylor dumped Calvin, her boyfriend of 15 months, over the phone, blind-sighting the Scottish DJ.

A source told the gossip website that Taylor called Calvin from Nashville at some point after his car crash to put an end to their relationship. Taylor is said to have been vague during the call, only saying she needed some space.

They say breaking up is hard to do, but leaving a famous boyband and going solo must be even harder. Last May Zayn Malik broke teenaged hearts when he announced his departure from One Direction, but one year on he’s just released his first solo album. But now Mind of Mine has finally dropped, Zayn might want to read up on some other former boyband members who tried their hand at a solo career, to varying degrees of success.

One of the biggest pieces of celebrity news last week was the revelation that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were dating, but while fans have been talking about little else, those closer to Gigi are apparently not all in favour of the new relationship.

The 20 year old model was spotted out and about with Zayn, the former One Directioner, over the last couple of weeks, hanging out with Gigi’s supermodel sister Bella. However, not everybody in camp Gigi thinks it’s a good idea.

“Her friends do not quite understand what the attraction is,” an insider told E! News. “He is not her usual type, he doesn't share her sense of humour or ease with people [and] he's a little more self-aware and awkward.”

As rumours of a romance between Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik heat up, the model took to Twitter to defend her new relationship in a series of now deleted tweets. Hadid split from boyfriend of five months Joe Jonas in early November and had been criticised by some online for seemingly moving on too fast after the break up.

'Sometimes life just happens.. For whatever reason in whatever timing. And sometimes it doesn’t make sense till it does. That’s it,' Hadid reportedly wrote on twitter (via The Mirror). ‘If there was a real way to sit with each one of you and tell you my side of things, I would.’

As the end of the year approaches, Miley Cyrus seems determined to return to that coveted most talked about position in showbiz. Responding to the New York Times and indirectly to Jonas’ claim that it was her and Demi Lovato who introduced him to weed back in the day, Cyrus said: “"If you want to smoke weed, you're going to smoke weed. There's nothing that two little girls are going to get you to do that you don't want to do. I thought maybe he was saying that like it was going to make him look badass.”

David "Kidd" Kraddick's death on Saturday 27th July was caused by an enlarged heart and blocked arteries, according a preliminary autopsy. As a result he had probably developed an irregular heartbeat.

Kraddick died suddenly in New Orleans whilst hosting a charity golf tournament. The event was in aid of his 'Kidd's Kids' foundation which provides support and rest bite for terminally ill children and their families.

Radio DJ David "Kidd" Kraddick's death has attracted sympathy from across the entertainment business and from his fans. Kraddick hosted a number of shows based in Texas but a number were synchronised across the US. The much-liked Radio personality died suddenly on Saturday 27th July in New Orleans aged just 53 years old.

Kraddick was hosting a charity golf tournament, in aid of his Kidd's Kids foundation, just outside New Orleans when he fell ill. He was transported to a New Orleans hospital where he died in the afternoon. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.

In the latest pop star news (do the Jonas Brothers still qualify as pop stars, by the way.) While Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are all moving forward in their careers and Joe Jonas is… in a rut, to put it lightly, the Jonas brothers member had no qualms about ranking the phenomenally successful pop stars in terms of preference.

The awkward situation ensued on MTV’s Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen. During a segment, called Plead the Fifth, Jonas was asked to rank the three women. He did manage to give a surprisingly diplomatic answer though. He said: "Me and her are very cool now, so favourite [is] Demi. Wow. I want to say … I can’t say ‘plead the fifth’ yet, this is bad!"

Kevin Jonas, born Paul Kevin Jonas II, will be a father. The announcement that his wife Danielle is pregnant came during an interview with E! Online. The couple have been married since 2009 after meeting in the Bahamas in 2007.

Kevin Jonas is the oldest of the Jonas Brothers, his younger siblings are Joe and Nick.  The pop-group are currently touring throughout the US and Canada. Tickets for the shows, the last being on August 16th, have completely sold out. The Jonas Brothers have announced they will be recording a new studio album sometime this year (2013).

Country pop singer Taylor Swift has demonstrated her patriotic side by dropping a treat for fans on Independence Day. She has released a video showing edited shots of her truly thrilling live performances against the title track from her recent album, Red.

Yes indeed, there are many things in the video that are red - Taylor's lips, her guitar, and the pieces of cloth that her cavorting dancers are waving around. The video gives a flavour of her famed live performances, showing what an able performer she as she engages the teeming crowds by walking up and down the stage runways.

The Jonas Brothers (remember them?) have a new single out after a long hiatus and they claim that the inspiration for this one was quite an unusual one.

The upbeat peppy song does sound similar to the pop anthems that first made the JoBros famous, but they’ve come out with a brand new image. According to Nick Jonas “Pom Poms” was one of the last tracks they wrote for the album, with the intention of creating a brighter song to balance out some of the darker material on the record. On a special called “Jonas Brothers: Live with MTV”, the trio explained their inspiration behind the song. Joe joked that it was written with “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara in mind and Nick agreed. Of course, it was all in jest.

Whether or not the song was about the actress though, it’s already gaining momentum online and there’s even talk about a Jonas Brothers comeback. The trio haven’t exactly been keeping still since they first rose to prominence three years ago, of course. According to MTV, while Joe has been working on some solo music, Kevin has starred in his own E! reality series “Married to Jonas” alongside his wife Dani. Meanwhile, Jo, the youngest brother has been performing on Broadway. Now the trio are just about ready for a reunion it seems and with the new album ready and waiting to thrill teenage girls (or maybe they’ll be aiming for a new demographic now?) it won’t be too long before the Jonas World Tour either.

Remember when Taylor Swift joked with Ellen DeGeneres about how many failed relationships she's had, and remember how it was kind of OK because she was going pretty strong with Conor Kennedy? Well forget that, forget all of that, because the once inseparable couple has now split.

Yep, after an intense summer romance that reportedly saw Taylor buy a home near the Kennedy family compound, the pair have decided to go their own separate ways. US Weekly were first to report the news, though there has been no immediate comment from Swift's representative. At least now the We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer has plenty of material for her next album. We're kind of sceptical about the whole thing, remember, Swift has an album to promote Red which is billed as her latest 'heartbreak record' and it's likely to debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 next week. A little breakup story isn't going to hurt now is it? If it is true though, Kennedy will be sent to the Taylor Swift scrapheap - a remote location where Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Garrett Hedlund, Joe Jonas and Lucas Till huddle together and describe their terrible experiences in love. 

It all makes sense, really. Taylor has been working non-stop to promote Red in recent months, while Conor stepped out solo earlier this month at the premiere of the HBO documentary on his grandmother, Ethel.

Taylor Swift has called John Mayer “presumptuous” whilst talking in an interview, reports The Huffington Post.

Swift refused to confirm that the lyrics of the song were written about Mayer, though they do seem to closely follow the pattern of their relationship, with the lines “Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone / Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?” The singer wasn’t drawn into detail though; "I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail," Swift asserted whilst talking to Glamour. "I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you're going through." She also added that she’d never read what Mayer said about her, and that he had no plans to. "It's not that I'm this egomaniac and I don’t want to hear anything negative, because I do keep myself in check. But I've never developed that thick a skin. So I just kind of live a life, and I let all the gossip live somewhere else. If you go too far down the rabbit hole of what people think about you, it can change everything about who you are." Indeed, Taylor. Other ex-boyfriends should take note; we’re looking at you, Joe Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal. Be careful.

One of the more cryptic Taylor Swift songs, We Are Never Getting Back Together, apart from being succinct in its title, has broken records for Swift, making her the most downloaded female artists in one week. Her forthcoming album, Red, is due for release on October 22nd, and will feature songs written by Ed Sheeran.
