Joaquin Phoenix is set to play a footwear designer in new movie 'Big Shoe'.
The Oscar-winning actor is in talks to take on the role of a foot and shoe fetishist in the indie movie, which is described as "out there but cool".
The project will be directed by Steven Shainberg, the man behind 2002's 'Secretary', although financing has yet to be finalised, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Despite recently claiming he was quitting acting to concentrate on a hip-hop career, Joaquin has been linked to plenty of roles.
He was also in talks to appear alongside Sean Penn in 'Genius' - the story of literary editor Max Perkins - as well as 'The Sitter', in which he would have played a drug dealer in the comedy about a college student who is talked into baby-sitting the three misfit kids next door.
Joaquin is currently in Canada to unveil Casey Affleck's 'I'm Still Here' at the Toronto International Film Festival.
