An annotated first edition of Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone is set to go up for sale to raise money for charity.

The book, the first in the magical series, features handwritten thoughts and commentary from author J.K. Rowling, alongside 22 hand-drawn illustrations of Potter and Albus Dumbledore.

The novel will be one of the star lots going under the hammer alongside editions of Bridget Jones's Diary and Northern Lights, which include annotations from authors Helen Fielding and Philip Pullman respectively. A copy of Roald Dahl's Matilda containing original drawings by illustrator Quentin Blake will also be auctioned at Sotheby's in London on Tuesday (21May13).
