Star Trek mastermind J.J. Abrams is set to tackle another piece of sci-fi history after securing the rights to The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling's final screenplay.

The young movie mogul is hoping to shop The Stops Along the Way through his Bad Robot production company to Tv network bosses, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Serling was a six-time Emmy winner for his writing work on The Twilight Zone, which he also presented.

It is not known if Abrams will direct the sci-fi series if it gets picked up.
