Julie Fernandez, the 38-year-old actress best known for starring in Ricky Gervais' and Stephen Merchant's classic sitcom 'The Office', claims she was groped by Sir Jimmy Savile at the aged of 14.

Speaking to the BBC, Fernandez - who also starred in Eldorado - said Savile's hands "lingered in places they shouldn't" as she sat beside him in her wheelchair. Fernandez was invited onto Jim'll Fix It after writing to the BBC star. She said, "I was in my wheelchair, but I just remember his hands being everywhere and just lingering those two, three, four seconds slightly too long in places they shouldn't.But it wasn't particularly obvious either." The actress remembers "feeling uncomfortable" during the incident and noticing Savile's "huge rings" on his fingers. The actress, also a disability rights campaigner, said people were probably afraid to speak out against Savile because he was a prominent broadcaster. "He was a great fundraiser and all of these things, so possibly people didn't want to say negative things about him. Maybe they didn't think they would be believed," she said.

The Metropolitan Police is pursuing 340 potential lines of inquiry as to Jimmy Savile's sexual abuse, with over 40 potential victims.
