The Horror Of Frankenstein Review

Good
This '70s inflected rendition of the Frankenstein story isn't terribly faithful to the original text, but it does feature a grandiose performance by Ralph Bates as the doctor obsessed with resurrecting the dead. His '70s hair and puffy shirt is reason enough to tune in, but duelling femmes fatale Kate O'Mara and Veronica Carlson remove any doubt about whether Horror has a legacy.

Bad
Who slew Auntie Roo? Good God, who cares!? This awful horror flick (tagline: "The hand that rocks the cradle has no flesh on it!") is so atrocious it's truly hard to muddle through. Shelley Winters' psychotic character is searching for a "replacement" for her dead daughter... offing local children along the way. Meant as an update to Hansel & Gretel, this sad, sad "horror" movie is not remotely scary, features terribly stilted dialogue, and sports one of the biggest wigs I've ever seen outside of an intentional farce. Very, very bad.

Aka Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?

The Brides Of Dracula Review

Good
As "Baron Meinster," David Peel isn't quite Dracula, and these gals aren't really brides either. But Peter Cushing's Van Helsing anchors this campy reimagination of the Dracula story, which has Meinster preying on a girls' school to fill out his pseudo-harem. When the story lags (and it often does), at least you have copious eye candy to feast on.
