Kimmel will be teaming up with production duo Jennifer Todd and Michael De Luca once again for the 90th Academy Awards in March next year.
This year’s Oscars will inevitably go down in history for the infamous mix-up over who won Best Picture, but at least one element of the telecast went well enough to warrant being repeated next year, with Jimmy Kimmel confirmed as the host for the 2018 ceremony.
The late night talk show host, who has hosted ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ since 2003 on ABC, will emcee the 90th Academy Awards telecast for the second consecutive year on March 4th next year. The Academy and ABC network revealed that Kimmel will re-team with producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stephen Colbert, James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel had a lot to say on the subject.
Since the news broke earlier this week that President Donald Trump had fired the director of the FBI James Comey, people around the world have reacted with a mixture of shock and incredulity. It's a crazy situation, and one that Stephen Colbert, James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel have been making light of.
Donald Trump out voting on election day
Despite the fact that Trump's presidency is actually quite terrifying for the people who live in America, you can't deny that the man has high entertainment value. He makes himself extremely easy to make fun of, especially when he's living up to his 'Apprentice' catchphrase 'You're fired!'.
Everyone has phoned in to show CHLA their support after Jimmy Kimmel's touching tribute.
Jimmy Kimmel bravely opened up about his newborn son's open heart surgery earlier this week, praising Children's Hospital Los Angeles for their treatment and urging fans to send in donations to the medical facility. Now it seems that they have been inundated with calls and donations.
Jimmy Kimmel with his wife at Oscar party
Fans were reduced to tears by Jimmy's story this week when he explained how his son William 'Billy' John Kimmel was found to have a heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia when he was born on April 21st 2017. Luckily for him, he underwent surgery at the nearby Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and is now making a remarkable recovery.
The last ten days have been a terrifying ordeal for Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney.
Jimmy Kimmel has opened up about the terrifying ordeal he went through recently with the birth of his fourth child, who had to undergo a series of surgeries after doctors determined a problem with his heart. He talked about the incident on his talk show this week.

It should have been the happiest moment of their year, but Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney had the fright of their lives just hours after welcoming their second child as a couple into the world. The talk show host choked back tears as he explained the situation to his audience on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' yesterday (May 1st 2017).

Damon joined up with Jimmy Kimmel for a spoof of the United Airlines 'passenger bumping' scandal.
Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel put aside their light-hearted ‘feud’ for a hilarious segment skewering United Airlines for its recent passenger-bumping PR disaster on the latter’s late night chat show this week.
The two have been engaged in fictitious feud with each other for eight years, largely revolving around how Damon never gets invited as guest to ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!” However, they joined forces for the sake of capitalising on the great social media talking point of the last fortnight – the United Airlines scandal in which a passenger was dragged off a United airplane by airport police because he had been bumped from the internal flight.

The iconic, quick-witted comedian passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The world of comedy is in mourning after Don Rickles, one of the true giants of the art form, passed away this week at the age of 90 from kidney failure.
The highly influential comedian, renowned for his lightning-quick wit and observational comedic insults, died on Thursday (April 6th) at his home in Los Angeles, his publicist told The Hollywood Reporter.
Rickles, who was born in Queens, New York in 1926, quickly became famous in Las Vegas and achieved headliner status, becoming loosely associated with Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack in the 1950s after insulting the legendary crooner to his face and getting many laughs out of it.

Any mention of the 'orange-coloured man' will cost you 100 bucks.
It's no wonder that Jimmy Kimmel is thinking about retirement from the talk show business, what with Donald Trump's various antics inciting an endless stream of must-be-addressed issues since his election. Thus, he decided to take a well-earned break with 'Trump-Free Tuesday' this week.
Jimmy Kimmel declares Trump-Free Tuesday
Yesterday (February 28th 2017) the talk show host decided to disregard the President's Congress address on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and declared it an official 'Trump-Free Tuesday'. We don't blame him. If we had to write monologues all the time about the crazy things Trump says, we'd get tired of it too.
Twitter reacted with incredulity at a couple of Kimmel's jokes that seemed to poke fun at 'non-white names'.
While the La La Land / Moonlight confusion inevitably stole the headlines at last night’s Oscars ceremony, the telecast’s host Jimmy Kimmel has come under fire for ‘mocking’ actor Mahershala Ali’s name and ‘devaluing’ his Best Supporting Actor win.
When the first Oscar of the evening went to the 43 year old American actor for his role in Moonlight, making him the first ever Muslim to win an academy award, Ali took the time to pay a heartfelt tribute to his wife Amatus, who had given birth to their first daughter just a few days previously.
“I just want to thank [my wife] for just being such a soldier through this process and for carrying me through it all,” the star said.

He doesn't have enough free time.
Jimmy Kimmel is contemplating retirement following the expiration of his 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' contract in 2019. Because of his perfectionist tendencies, he ends up making a lot of work for himself on the ABC show, and he could really do with some time out.
Jimmy Kimmel may be leaving late night television for good
'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' has been on the air for 14 years, and the self-confessed 'control freak' host has claimed to spend up to 70 hours a week working on each episode; from writing monologues to researching his guests for interviews. So it's no wonder he's considering not renewing his contract in the Fall of 2019.

He finally brought it home with him.
Jimmy Kimmel continued his reign of terror on Trick-or-Treaters with the sixth annual Halloween candy prank. This year, however, was the first time he got to do the prank himself on his 2-year-old daughter Jane. Needless to say, it didn't go as well as he'd hoped.
Jimmy Kimmel tries to faze daughter with Halloween prank
Every year on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', we get to see videos of parents pulling the 'Halloween candy prank'; the ultimate in mean tricks to play on your children. Basically, your kid goes Trick-or-Treating, picks up a huge collection of candy from the neighbours, you send them off to bed when they get home and they wake up excited to indulge in the previous nights sugary pleasures. Only... you tell them that you ate all their candy.

Jimmy Kimmel channels George Michael with 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go'.
In case you thought James Corden's Carpool Karaoke couldn't get any better, he appeared alongside Jimmy Kimmel in a brief sketch ahead of the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 18th 2016) and made the host sing none other than 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go'.
Jimmy Kimmel sings Wham! with James Corden
'The Late Late Show with James Corden' brought its most popular segment to the Emmys with host Jimmy Kimmel in the passenger seat. He wasn't prepared for what James had prepared for him, however, and he was promptly forced to sing along to Wham!'s 1984 number one hit 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go'. Naturally, Jimmy didn't need too much persuading to join in the fun.
Earlier in the evening Kimmel announced the ‘Maggie Smith’ rule, which states you must be present to win.
Dame Maggie Smith won her fourth Emmy award last night and once again the British actress failed to turn up to collect her trophy. It was the ninth time Smith had been nominated for an award at the annual ceremony and she’s never once made an appearance. But this year host Jimmy Kimmel wasn't going to let her get away with it.
Maggie Smith has had nine Emmy nominations and four wins, yet she’s never attended a ceremony
During his opening monologue Kimmel called out the ‘Downton Abbey’ actress for her perceived lack of interest in the Emmy awards. “This year there's a new rule,” he began. “For the first time ever, you must be present to win. If we call your name and you're not here to accept, the Emmy goes to the next name on the list. It's called the Maggie Smith rule.”
Announcing the new album via Twitter on Wednesday, she also took part in a prank on Jimmy Kimmel the same evening.
The resurgent Britney Spears has announced details of her forthcoming ninth album, which will be called Glory and released later this month on August 26th.
The 34 year old pop veteran, whose 17 year singing career is undergoing a renaissance off the back of her successful Las Vegas residency and recent show-stopping Billboard Music Awards medley, announced the new album via Twitter on Wednesday (August 3rd), framing it as “the beginning of a new era”.

Megan Fox has revealed why she’s undertaking the onerous task of moving house while she’s pregnant – because her unborn child told her to move!
The 30 year old star revealed during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ this week that she and her unborn baby have been unconsciously communicating throughout her entire pregnancy. Depp also implied that last month's apology video over the infamous 'dog smuggling' incident wasn't sincere.
Johnny Depp is seemingly determined to continue his war of words with the Australian deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce over the ‘dog smuggling’ incident that landed him and his wife Amber Heard in court, mocking the apology video they recorded and saying that Joyce looks like he’s “inbred with a tomato”.
Dropping by ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Tuesday night (May 24th), he made the comments when asked by the host about the episode last year in which Joyce threatened to have the couple’s two Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo put down unless they left the country within 50 hours, after it was believed that they were smuggled illegally.

Ripa was joined by guest co-host Jimmy Kimmel, as the show begins their search for Strahan’s replacement.
Kelly Ripa was back on ‘Live!’ on Monday morning (May 16th) for the first time since Michael Strahan bowed out of the show on Friday. For now Ripa will be joined by a series of guest hosts, the first being Jimmy Kimmel, until a replacement for Strahan is found.
Kelly Ripa has hosted her first ‘Live!’ since Michael Strahan’s exit.
On the morning show, Kimmel, who is more used to hosting late at night, asked Ripa "Where's Michael?" before probing her further and adding: "Let's start from the beginning, what happened?" But Ripa wasn't giving anything away and Kimmel joked: "I'm like an ex-boyfriend you go back to for sex.”

Legend gave the theme song some much needed lyrics, which really got to the heart of what the show is all about.
US fans bid farewell to ‘Downton Abbey’ on Sunday night (March 6th), after six seasons of the British drama. While the show’s ending might have disappointed some, on Monday night's episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, fans were given what they really wanted, a reworking of the theme with lyrics by John Legend.
John Legend has reworked the ‘Downton Abbey’ theme.
Describing the series, which aired on PBS, as ‘a show set in a more dignified time, a time when marrying your cousin was seen as a classy thing to do,’ Kimmel introduced Legend and his piano to perform the lyrical version of the theme.

Kimmel will be returning as host for the 68th Emmy Awards in September, having fronted the ceremony in 2012.
ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ had the exclusive on Monday (March 7th), as Kimmel returns to host the Emmys for the second time on September 18th. He had previously fulfilled the role back in 2012, incidentally the last time that ABC broadcasted the event (broadcasting rights are rotated between ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox).

That must've taken some muscle from Affleck.
Matt Damon might have failed at landing a Best Actor Oscar this year, but he has managed to make his way onto 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' finally with the help from his best friend Ben Affleck. Of course, his stay was very brief as Kimmel was soon able to kick him off, but it was enough to please the audience.
Matt Damon sneaks onto Jimmy Kimmel Live
As part of the post-Oscars show, Ben Affleck arrived onto the stage of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', nonchalantly wearing a massively bulging overcoat and claiming that finishing training for his Batman role has meant that all his muscle has turned to fat. In response to Kimmel's comment that he's 'ballooned', Affleck quipped: 'I didn't think this was going to be about body-shaming tonight'. But Kimmel was not to be fooled by the absurd moving bump and immediately got up to see what Affleck was hiding. It turned out to be a very red-faced Matt Damon, panting a little from the lack of oxygen, who unstraps himself from a body harness that Affleck is wearing and garners huge applause from the audience, to Kimmel's chagrin.

With awards season about to reach its peak at Sunday’s Oscars, Hollywood’s A-listers are probably feeling pretty good about themselves right now. But trust twitter to bring their self-esteem down a notch, with the latest edition of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’s’ Mean Tweets- Movie Edition.
George Clooney took part in the latest edition of ‘Mean Tweets’.

For one night only, Cohen brought back 'Borat' for an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
It’s been nearly a decade since British actor and satirist Sacha Baron Cohen retired arguably his most famous comic creation ‘Borat’, following the hit movie of the same name for which he won a Golden Globe in 2007.
However, Cohen briefly revived the Kazakh journalist for an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Wednesday night (December 9th), in which he poked fun at Donald Trump and introduced the world to a new character with a trailer for upcoming spy comedy movie The Brothers Grimsby.

The campaign launches on Tuesday (December 1st), which honours World AIDS Day, according to the Associated Press. With the tenth and final episode of 'Game of Thrones' Season Five set to air soon, one of the show's stars, Kit Harrington, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to see how other people impersonated his character.
'Game of Thrones' is massive, with widespread appeal to a huge audience of millions of fans. While the fifth season has been getting a bit of flack recently, one of the few characters to still have massive support from fans is Jon Snow. The Stark outcast and current Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, tasked with keeping the realms of men safe from the undead White Walkers, is certainly a fan favourite, along with Daenerys Targaryen - the Mother of Dragons - and Tyrion Lannister - the fast-talking, rich, and highly intelligent dwarf.
Kit Harrington is Jon Snow in HBO's 'Game of Thrones'
Part of what makes actor Kit Harrington's portrayal of Jon Snow so favourable with fans is (aside from his contract-bound hair) his deep, Northern English accent. An accent which is easily recognisable, yet hard to reproduce. In a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Harrington appeared on the show, and saw what some of the fans thought of the voice.

The duo got together to make a series of short adverts supporting a local video store at Austin, Texas as part of Kimmel's week at SXSW festival.
Though they respectively constitute the cream of the movie and TV worlds, Matthew Mcconaughey and Jimmy Kimmel took some time out to boost the grassroots of the entertainment industry by teaming up to promote a local video store at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
McConaughey was a guest on Kimmel’s late night chat show, which is specially shooting on location in Texas for the week, and appeared wearing a ‘Vulcan Video’ T-shirt and a cap with his own trademark ‘alright’ catchphrase. The duo then unveiled three special TV shorts they had filmed to promote the store.

The latest addition of the popular ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ segment sees some of music’s biggest stars read the worst about themselves.

But before the stars get to enjoy themselves, why not let Jimmy Kimmel take them down a few pegs and deliver some harsh words for our entertainment? Yes everybody ‘Mean Tweets’ is back!
Katy Perry was among the stars participating in the latest edition of 'mean tweets'.
In the segment’s second musical edition, a host of big name stars suffered by reading some of the least contrastive criticism on the planet. Case in point, poor Ed Sheeran having to read, “Hey look Ed Sheeran is still ugly.”

Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't too thrilled with the feedback she received.
Last night’s episode, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow, Lena Dunham and her royal highness Britney Spears was a pretty epic one. Seriously. Hearing Gwyneth Paltrow read out the words: "Gwyneth Paltrow you ugly ass big bird looking bitch, shut the f--k up," without even a flinch was a lesson in confidence indeed. And speaking of confidence, the queen of confidence herself, Lena Dunham, got stuck with reading: “Unpopular opinion: lena dunham's boobs are dog noses.”

The changes from last winter are working - networks are seeing the best late night ratings in ages.
Seven months after Fallon’s Tonight takeover, everything looks great in Late Night Land. Not only has the former late night host managed to revive ratings, he’s managed to keep them high – so high, if fact, that this past week of re-runs topped Tonight originals’ numbers from the same period last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. THR reports that at this point, Fallon holds 34% of the most coveted demographic – viewers aged between 18 and 49.
Fallon has ushered in a revival for Tonight.
But oddly enough, this influx didn’t come at the expense of other late night formats. Instead of reeling in viewers from competing late night formats, Fallon has brought in new viewers. His wide margin of victory hasn't taken away any considerable portion of David Letterman's or Jimmy Kimmel's audiences. Kimmel even wrapped May virtually steady with his showing that month last year. In fact, Kimmel is on track to wrap the 2014 season with the highest numbers his show has seen since 2003, according to THR.

All the things the 'Divergent' actress owns are in a single pull-along bag.
Shailene Woodley is quite the anomaly in the world of showbiz: not because her image isn't crafted but because she at least claims not to buy into the 'more, more, more' mentality of materialism like many of her peers. The actress, who is best known for her role in the recent teen series adaptation, Divergent, appeared on Thursday's episode of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! during which she discussed her unusual, if not refreshing, approach to life.

The Oscars: need we say more? The movie event of the year finally came and went with lots of dazzling winners and hilarious stories.
The 86th Academy Awards: The night we'd all been waiting for was finally here: this year's Oscars ceremony has come and gone along with another ground-breaking year in cinema. 12 Years a Slave predictably took Best Picture but Gravity emerged as the movie of the evening with seven awards, five of which were in the technical categories. Matthew McConaughey and Cate Blanchett triumphed with their respective acting awards, pizza was served, Lupita Nyong'o was the darling of yet another awards show and high-scoring host Ellen Degeneres wrapped up the festivities with a neat and expertly-timed bow.
The Oscars Selfie: They say a picture speaks a thousand words but nowadays an image is judged by how many retweets it can get within the shortest space of time. When Ellen Degeneres decided to get a couple of stars together for an impromptu selfie, she probably didn't expect the shot - which featured Bradley Cooper, Brangeline, JLaw, Lupita, Kevin Spacey, Jared Leto, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep - to surpass Obama's re-election shot's previous world record. The snap broke Twitter, attracting 80,000 retweets within 30 minutes and 1.2 million in an hour.

The night was full of heart-warming tributes, all in the name of charity.
At Friday night’s MusiCares gala, Carole King was most definitely the star of the night – and the year, as she was honored with MusiCares’ Person of the Year award. More than 2000 admirers filled the Los Angeles Convention Center to pay tribute to King. Past MusiCares honorees Bonnie Raitt, Gloria Estefan and David Crosby were also in attendance along with the likes of Yoko Ono, Ciara, Diane Warren, Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, USA Today reports.
King joins the likes of Bonnie Raitt and David Crossby in winning the honor.
The ceremony kicked off with host Jimmy Kimmel paying tribute to King’s five-decade career and the 1971 album that started it all. “That cat from the Tapestry album must be dead, right?” Kimmel quipped in his opening speech. He was followed by renditions of King’s most popular songs, performed by some of the biggest names in music today.
Kids really love their Halloween candy is the lesson we can all take from this.
Jimmy Kimmel, late show host, comedian and prankster extraordinaire is at it again. If for you, like for us, Kimmel’s annual Halloween prank is the highlight of the holiday, well you might just be a terrible person. But also, he did it again in 2013 and it’s more hilarious than ever. Meaning, there are more creative temper tantrums than ever. Who would imagine that there were so many ways for a child to protest their stolen candy.
Jimmy Kimmel, the bane of any trick-or-treater's existance.
In case you’re not familiar with the whole affair, it’s all pretty simple. In 2011, Kimmel asked parents to tell their kids that they ate all their Halloween candy, record the little darlings’ (sort of) reaction and upload it to youtube with the title “Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy.” The result was so undeniably hilarious, that the show turned it into an annual affair. In the days after October 31, parents were challenged to upload their home videos and Kimmel’s team selected the most entertaining ones to make this year’s video, which you can watch below:

Gravity's Pull: Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi thriller Gravity exceeded expectations at the box office during its opening weekend, pulling in a massive $50 million despite modest promotion. Of course, it was the unanimously positive reviews that drove movie fans to the theaters, leaving Gravity as a very credible Oscar contender indeed. Read our roundup here.
The feuding stars sat down on Jimmy's show and put their dispute aside for an in-depth chat on Wednesday's edition of 'Live'
Kanye West was Wednesday's (9 Oct.) big name guest for Jimmy Kimmel Live; a booking that was made all the more interesting given the recent fallout between the two over a parody Jimmy did of a Kanye interview that took place last month. The resulting chat was pretty funny, if not a little awkward at times, as Kanye's mask fell off long enough to reveal a real human person during his engaging talk with the late night chat host (ABC).
Kanye and Kimmel seem to have put their differences to one side
"The main reason I did that is because I like to see kids curse," Kimmel told Kanye in reference to the sketch, which features children acting out his interview with BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. Kimmel also admitted that he took some of Kanye's quotes out of context for comedic effect, stating that he only did the skit because "I think it's funny."

This is not a prank, people (probably).
After keeping a relatively low profile following the birth of daughter North, Kanye West is active and working again, most recently with a scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, October 9th. But there’s an additional layer to this: it will be the first time the talk show host sits down with the rapper, after West went on a Twitter rampage against him recently.
West has been quite the family man lately.
Can’t you just feel the tension in the air? For those in need of a brief rundown of the feud, Kanye West recently did an interview with BBC Radio 1. In it, he declared himself the “biggest rock star in the world.” Kimmel, naturally, took the golden parody opportunity and had kids recreate the controversial video, at which point West took to Twitter to pen the following rant.
Kanye West comes face to face with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday.
Kanye West's behavior has been rather odd this year. Not Amanda Bynes odd, just odd. He's been going after photographers, boasting about his talent and going off on crazy tangents during interviews - this despite his album Yeezus gaining critical acclaim and Kanye becoming a father for the first time.
Kanye West, On The Catwalk
It appeared to come to a head when Kanye sat down for a chat with Radio 1's Zane Lowe last month. It was less of an interview, and more of a rapper talking for an hour about anything but his music.

Kanye West will appear on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show this Wednesday, as they face each other for the first time since their feud began.
Kanye West and television talk show host will face each other for the first time since their feud began.
The spoof poked fun at West for claiming he was the "No.1 rock star in the world" as well as expressing that he is tired of getting knocked down from fashion labels across the globe.

Jon Hamm ain't dying, folks.
Jon Hamm has moved to reassure fans that he is absolutely, one-hundred-per-cent, categorically not dying of cancer. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, the Mad Men actor clarified what's going on with his health.
Jon Hamm as Don Draper [L] in Mad Men
"I've got a polyp on my vocal cord," a raspy, bearded Hamm, 42, told the host, "It sounds worse than it is, although it doesn't sound as bad as how the National Enquirer reported it, which was that I was coughing up blood and probably have cancer.

Jimmy Kimmel used children to recreate Kanye's bizarre Radio 1 interview, West launched a furious Twitter tirade.
Jimmy Kimmel has well and truly riled rapper Kanye West after airing a spoof interview of Kanye's now-viral interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, in which Kanye describes himself as the world's biggest rockstar. TV host Kimmel recreated a scene from the interview, using the same words that were spoken but with children playing Kanye and Zane - complete with milkshakes.
Kanye West Goes On The Rant To End All Twitter Rants.
End twerking forever? Twerking gone wrong turns out to be Jimmy Kimmel prank gone so, so right.
Jimmy Kimmel, late night host, prankster, part of the team behind “Channing All Over Your Tatum” is at it again. Any self-respecting citizen of the internet will remember last week’s viral video sensation of a girl, whose enthusiastic twerking led to a nasty fall, after which her sweatpants caught fire from a nearby candle.

The preppy rockers gave a pretty hilarious take on the super-successful single from Thicke during a recent radio appearance
Just when we were all starting to get sick of 'Blurred Lines,' Robin Thicke's mega-hit featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I., New York rockers Vampire Weekend were on hand earlier this week to give us all another reason to care about the track once again as they gave their own take on the track. The performance was part of BBC Radio One's Live Lounge sessions and yes, it does feature an (attempted) rendition of T.I.'s rapped part as well.
The group made the track their own
The laughter-inducing version, that is filled with ad-libs and the occasional cry of "dat falsetto!" whenever someone forgets a line, was recorded with glee by the 'Diane Young' rockers at the London radio studio. Hearing Ezra sing “You the hottest bitch in this place!!!” and mumble “pimpin” and “shake your rump!” in his best T.I. impression is as funny as it founds too, as the white boy indie kids break down into hysterics by the end of the track.
The pair tied the knot in a huge ceremony this Saturday.
This Saturday, Jimmy Kimmel married his longtime partner and the co-head writer of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Molly McNearney. According to Us Weekly, both the 45-year-old host and his ladylove, 35, chose very classic looks for their special day – he in a black and white tux and she in a flowing white strapless gown with a diamond-encrusted sash.
The couple have been together for several years.
The diamonds weren’t the only sparkling thing at the star-studded wedding, however. The reception was attended by a slew of A-listers, including Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner, Matt Damon and wife Luciana, Jennifer Aniston and fiance Justin Theroux, Ellen Degeneres and wife Portia De Rossi, Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski, Howard Stern and Johnny Knoxville were all on the guestlist of some 300 of Kimmel and McNearney’s closest friends and family.
Ciara is out in full force this month.
After the sneak previews of Ciara’s upcoming album, which we got in the videos for Body Party and, just a couple of days ago, the Nicki Minaj collaboration I’m out, finally, the full album is available online. Well, at least it’s available to stream on iTunes– for just one week, Ciara fans will be able to stream the full album, before the record officially goes on sale – that is, becomes available for download next week, on July 8. As per protocol, the singer is neck deep in album promotion at the moment. Snippets from her next two videos, part of a five-video series Ciara shot with director Hannah Lux Davis are going to premiere today – July 3.
The singer/dancer recently gave a stunning performance at the BET awards.
The rest of the singer’s week is filled with TV appearances – from a performance on Jimmy Kimmel, to an interview on Chelsea Lately and an appearance on the today show. While Ciara was an extremely successful global celebrity even before this album (with 7 million copies of her previous albums sold,) it looks like the singer and her team are going all out on this one. According to the Wall Street Journal, the singer shared her excitement over the release.
Mel Brooks achieved a Lifetime Achievement Award from his peers at the American Film Institute at a special ceremony yesterday.
Mel Brooks became the 41st recipient of the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award at Thursday (June 6) night's handing-out ceremony. Upon receiving award the director of such comic greats as Young Frankenstein and Blazing Sandler told the star-studded audience that "movies saved [his] life," following a heartfelt yet humorous video tribute.
The ceremony before the the handing over of the award to the 86-year-old was a fitting one for the comedy great, beginning with a song and dance routine featuring numbers from Brooks' The Producers, all being reenacted by Martin Short. He said after; "the word genius is used a lot in Hollywood, so I might as well call Mel one," as the ceremony went on and a range of comedy greats gave their respects to the comic, with Larry David blaming Mel for keeping him away from comedy in his aspiring years because he knew he'd never live up to it, whilst Jimmy Kimmel took paying his respects to the writer/director a little more seriously, jokingly saying, We are going to miss you so much, Mel."
Kimmel continued; "you were one of the greats. Rest in peace, my friend," with Brooks addressing Kimmel's comment as soon as he got on stage , first swearing then exclaiming "I'm not gonna die!"
Festival goers extol the virtues of fictional acts The Chelsea Clintons, The Obesity Epidemic and more
It’s been doing the rounds on the internet ever since it aired, the Jimmy Kimmel Coachella interviews video has been an absolute smash, with the talk show host making an ass out of many, um, ‘music fans’ at this year’s Coachella festival by getting them to praise bands who don’t even exist.
It’s well known that music fans would hate to admit they’ve not heard of an act who they’re led to believe everyone’s going on about, while at the same loving knowing about a band no one else does, but it’s remarkable the lengths that some of those interviewed by the Kimmel show will go to convince him that they’re really into completely fictional bands like The Chelsea Clintons, The Obesity Epidemic, and Regis & the Philbins. So many of them praise an act without missing a beat, so keen are they to seem knowledgeable – asked about The Obesity Epidemic, one fan instantly says “I just like their whole style, their whole genre.”
Our heart went out to the woman who was asked about the band Get The F*** Out Of My Pool, and who rambled on at such length despite clearly getting the sense that something was completely awry, though she answered with more conviction a question about The Chelsea Clintons, saying “they just give off good energy, you can just tell they’re doing it from a good place.” A non-existent place, in fact. See for yourself below.

Take one emerging talk show host, and make them interview one of the genre's all time legends, and what do you get? A nervous, emerging talk show host. Jimmy Kimmel says interviewing David Letterman is "a big deal" for him.
"It's been some welcome," he laughed, when Access Hollywood interviewed on moving his show to Brooklyn. "We were, of course, disappointed that we had to cancel our first show, and then trying to do the show in the middle of all this craziness has been difficult, but I don't know -- it brings people together to, I guess, stand in line outside Trader Joe's trying to get hummus," Jimmy joked. "Tonight David Letterman is on the show and the band Vampire Weekend... I'm nervous about it because I've been watching David Letterman religiously since I was about 13 years old," Jimmy said. "When I was a kid, my birthday cake said, 'Late Night with David Letterman' on it, my license plate on my car said, 'Late Night,' so it's a big deal for me."
We're not surprised: this would be like Kendrick Lamar interviewing 2 Pac; David Beckham interviewing Pele, or Daniel Radcliff interviewing any other professional actor capable of acting. It's a big deal. You can catch the two talk show hosts... talking, 12/11c tonight (Wednesday, October 31) on ABC.

David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon may be taking the phrase 'the show much go on' a little too seriously, as both chat show hosts continued to tape their shows despite numerous warnings in light of Hurricane Sandy or Frankenstorm as it's become known.
It was all a little bit weird. Lettermen ran through some rejected nicknames for the storm, which would have been a hilarious bit on his normal show, but given the lack of live studio audience, and the fact his usual graphics guy was absent - meaning someone held up scrappy bits of paper on camera - it wasn't quite the slick show we've come to expect. At least Fallon started his show off with an acknowledgment that it was to be somewhat abnormal, kicking things off from a rain-soaked Rockefeller Plaza. Jimmy Kimmel decided to play it safe. The Hollywood reporter quotes a statement from his team, saying: "Due to stupid Hurricane Sandy and in the interest of the safety of our studio audience, Jimmy Kimmel Live! will not broadcast tonight from the Harvey Theatre at Brooklyn Academy of Music. We are hopeful to be back on the air tomorrow night with Howard Stern,Tracy Morgan and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings." Kimmel did go ahead with his Tuesday show (30th Oct. 2012).
This won't come as comforting news to many New Yorkers, many of which won't have the power to even watch the show (some reports suggest that power will be out for two weeks). Here at Contact Music we'd like to wish everyone on the East Coast the best of luck in getting through the stormy weather.
The mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg has been making sure that the city's residents were fully prepared for Hurricane Sandy, which hit New York last night. And whilst the majority of New York citizens paid heed, TV presenter David Letterman decided to pay heed instead to that age-old motto from the world of entertainment. "the show must go on!"
According to MTV, Letterman wasn't going to let a minor detail like the biggest storms to ever hit the USA stop him from filming one of his late night chat shows. He did, however, film the episode of The Late Show With David Letterman without the presence of his usual live audience. He may have been prepared to brave the elements to get the show filmed but he wasn't about to let the general public endanger themselves in the process. The same applied to Jimmy Fallon's show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
Other shows weren't so lucky. Jimmy Kimmel was forced to cancel one of his tapings in Brooklyn, announcing on Twitter "Though it pains us to do it, JKL from Brooklyn tonight is cancelled. I'm disappointed too, but we want you to be safe." Over at Comedy Central, however, the laughter stopped for the night. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart both cancelled the filming for their shows.
In distinct contrast to his normal behaviour Axl Rose was a) on time and b) giving an interview, with Jimmy Kimmel. The GUNS N' ROSES front man hasn't given a live TV interview for 20 years, but now that he has a 12 date residency at The Joint at Hard Rock in Las Vegas is more than happy to do a little promo in aid of the performances.
Perla Hudson, the wife of ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, was disappointed by the interview and quipped about it in an interview with Us Weekly. She, like many other fans, was probably hoping for a more in-depth and revealing interview, rather than the brief and amusing chat with Kimmel that ultimately barely scratched the surface of Axl's interesting life and even more interesting psyche. "I was waiting for something enlightening and all I got was promotion for a show and his evident affinity for a chili burger," Hudson said. "Where is the love Axl? And I stayed up for this? Sex, drugs and chili dogs. Long live Axl Rose. And a Halloween tree." Fixating on his weight, she said he has "evidently [had] way too many Tommy's chili burgers!" We can't disagree, he really is looking like a bit of a porker these days, in contrast to his high cheek boned and chiselled days of the early 90s.
Ah well, Axl turned 50 years old earlier this year, so gaining a few pounds is pretty much par for the course in middle age. In the interview he also expressed apathetic support for Obama, but that despite 'leaning' towards the Democrats, he won't be voting. A little odd given that his residency is titled "An Appetite For Democracy". Apathy, political contradictions and piling on the pounds, let's put it all down to creative licence. He's Axl Rose, he can do what he likes. The Guns N' Roses residency will begin on Wednesday 31st October 2012, with 11 futher days until November 24th of the same year.
The normally grumpy Axl Rose seemed pretty cheerful indeed as he appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, and as well he might! After all, this was the first televised interview the notorious front man of ageing rock and rollers Guns N’ Roses had given in more than 20 years. Rose was surprisingly smooth in the role as guest, and even kept his cheerful demeanour when Kimmel likened him to Santa Claus. That must be some sized dressing they’d put up for him backstage.
That said, Kimmel largely avoided the long, long list of things he could’ve asked Rose, such as, y’know, his embittered relationship with his former guitarist Slash, or his decision to reject his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction and then subsequently apologise for his no show, nor indeed what Guns N’ Roses were planning next. Kimmel might as well have just asked him “So, Axl, how are you?” and have that be that.
However, he did take the ribbing he got well, and in a moment that really did make him seem like Santa Claus, he puts Guns N’ Roses tickets under certain audience members seats, as well bringing along a burger truck and giving everyone gift certificates! Oh, and the title of this story? It’s because he told Kimmel that he “would lean Obama” in the upcoming election, though he quantified this by saying that he and most of California tend not to vote. So there you go then, Axl Rose: not quite as monstrous as we thought. See for yourself below (complete with amusing Halloween anecdote):
