R+B producers Jimmy Jam and TERRY LEWIS have sold their Edina, Minnesota, music studios for $2.3 million (GBP1.2 million).

The five-studio building, where hits for such stars as Janet Jackson, Gladys Knight and Boyz II Men have been recorded, went on the market at the start of the year (04).

Jam and Lewis, who have produced more number one hits than anyone except Beatles producer SIR George Martin, have moved their production business to Los Angeles.

It's expected the buyers will continue to use the FLYTE TYME PRODUCTIONS building for producing music.
