Music mogul Jimmy Iovine was left stunned when he delivered the final version of Born To Run to Bruce Springsteen, because the rocker angrily threw the classic album into his swimming pool.
The Interscope Records boss worked as an engineer on the 1975 classic, which contained tracks including Thunder Road and Jungleland and is one of the best-selling albums in history.
But Iovine reveals The Boss was terrifying to be around in the studio as he was so passionate about the project.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "We were all deathly afraid of Springsteen. The guy was broke. You couldn't borrow him, rent him, get him to compromise. He didn't give a f**k who you were. What you were going to give him. It was him and that record. That's powerful."
And the producer admits he was left severely shaken after he handed Springsteen the completed album at his hotel - only for the rocker to hurl it straight into a nearby pool.
Iovine adds, "When the album is over he gets up, takes it off (the record player), walks outside - and throws it in the pool. (I) must have taken 10 Valium on the way home."
