Jimmy Fallon has assured fans he’s doing well after he was admitted to a New York hospital on Friday to receive minor surgery on one of his hands. Although the comedian’s injury wasn’t too serious, it did cause NBC to cancel Friday’s taping of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and air a repeat episode instead.

Sharing a picture of his bandaged hand the talk show host tweeted, "Tweeting with one hand. Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing).” The 40 year old also added that he was feeling, “#drugged” and “#blessed” as he recovered, telling fans, “Thanks for good wishes everyone." LOL!”

Fallon’s injury was also confirmed by his rep, who told E! News, "Jimmy Fallon was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning, He is expected to make a full recovery."

The injury forced Fallon and NBC to cancel Friday's taping of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', with the network airing a repeat episode instead. "Hey guys - unfortunately tonight's taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand. He's totally fine but we'll be airing a repeat," the show announced on Twitter. "If you had tickets to tonight's show, we'll be in contact with you to reschedule your tix."
