The beloved presenter is on the mend from a serious hand injury last month, but it didn't stop him playing harmonica on 'Desire' with the Irish rock legends.
Having been photographed without his cast on Wednesday, ‘The Tonight Show’ host was invited onstage for a surprise appearance at the rock supergroup’s New York gig that night (July 22nd). He joined in with the rendition of ‘Desire’ on harmonica and cracked a few jokes at his and the group’s expense.

Daniel Radcliffe was filmed performing Eminem’s ‘The Real Slim Shady’ at a karaoke bar in California – take a look!
Daniel Radcliffe was recently filmed at a karaoke bar and his performance is actually pretty incredible. Whilst most people may turn to Dolly Parton or any 80s power ballad they can find, the Harry Potter actor went in an entirely different direction: rap.

Jimmy Finger returned to ‘The Tonight Show’ on Monday (13th July) and revealed the extent to which his hand had been injured after an accident at home.
Jimmy Fallon nearly lost his finger in an accident in his own home. The 40-year-old talk show host returned to host The Tonight Show on Monday (13th July), after taking a few weeks off to recover from his injury. His left hand was in a cast and he revealed how serious his injury was. Be prepared to cringe, it’s not a pretty story!

The late night talk show host needed minor surgery on his hand following a fall on Friday morning.
Jimmy Fallon has assured fans he’s doing well after he was admitted to a New York hospital on Friday to receive minor surgery on one of his hands. Although the comedian’s injury wasn’t too serious, it did cause NBC to cancel Friday’s taping of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and air a repeat episode instead.
Jimmy Fallon is recovering after injuring his hand on Friday.
Sharing a picture of his bandaged hand the talk show host tweeted, "Tweeting with one hand. Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing).” The 40 year old also added that he was feeling, “#drugged” and “#blessed” as he recovered, telling fans, “Thanks for good wishes everyone." Lena Dunham, rocking out with the best of them.
Lena Dunham, everybody. The Girls creator guested on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Friday night and it served as the perfect occasion to bring back... wait for it... LIP SYNC BATTLE. Oh yeah! The two battled against each other over eight minutes, with Fallon trying his lips at Charlene’s “I’ve Never Been to Me” and RUN-DMC’s “Run’s House” and Dunham taking on Calvin Harris’ “Outside” (feat. Ellie Goulding) and Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls.”
Who knew Lena Dunham had so much diva in her?
Recently, Fallon has branched out and created a full show, based on his most successful skit. The show, aptly named Lip Sync Battle is hosted by LL Cool J and airs on Spike TV. But Dunham wanted to go back to the source to find a platform for her – rather impressive – lip syncing talents.
After 33 years of late night talk show hosting, David Letterman is set to present his final episode of 'The Late Show' on Wednesday night.
With the last ever ‘The Late Show’ presented by David Letterman looming ever nearer, rival talk show host Jimmy Fallon took the time to pay tribute to the man who is set to retire tomorrow night (May 20th).
Letterman’s combined 33 year stint presenting ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ on CBS, and his former NBC show ‘Late Night with David Letterman’, makes him the longest serving late-night talk show host in television history.

The band filmed the surprise acoustic set ahead of their Jimmy Fallon appearance later this week.
U2 caused a bit of a stir in New York this week by performing a secret gig in a subway station.
The Irish rock legends, much more accustomed to playing cavernous stadiums and arenas, dressed up as street musicians and made an impromptu busking performance at Grand Central station on Monday night. The set was filmed ahead of the group’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ this Friday (May 8th).

And yet another lip sync battle went out of control.
Can we all agree that The Tonight Show is the funniest of the late night circuit? Everyone else can stop trying now, thank you. Last night (Thursday, April 16) saw the return of John Krasinski to Fallon’s studio and the actor paid (hilarious) tribute to N’Sync and Jimmy’s old pal Justin Timberlake.
Krasinski was good, but he was no match for Kendrick's cunning.
It was the lip sync battle of a century, with Krasinski absolutely killing it rocking out to the band’s 2000 hit Bye Bye Bye, as I’m sure we’ve all done at one point or another, probably after a couple tequilas.
This is the best use of classroom instruments ever.
Remember those totally unusable instruments you were given for music class in elementary school? Well, it turns out, they're not so unusable after all - Jimmy Fallon enlists Madonna and The Roots and his collection of children's music things in an epic new video.
Madonna performs 'Holiday' with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots
You never see real musicians using the likes of maracas, cowbells, glockenspiels or tambourines in their compositions (not often, anyway) so why do teachers expect children to learn the art of music making this way? Well, legendary neo-soul collective The Roots and Queen of Pop Madonna have proved on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' that with proper execution these instruments aren't so lame after all.
Dwayne Johnson miming and dancing to Taylor Swift? Yep this actually happened.
The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson, stole the show in the first episode of Spike’s ‘Lip Sync Battle’ which pits a pair of celebs against each other every week in the ultimate miming contest. The former WWE champ teamed up with rapper Common to take on Jimmy Fallon and John Legend on Thursday evening, demonstrating his miming skills to Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’.
The Rock is now a champion of the 'Lip Sync Battle'
Johnson performed Swfity’s modern pop classic, as well as donning the infamous John Travolta white suit for a rendition of the Bee Gee’s ‘Stayin’ Alive’. The 42 year old’s partner Common also performed Lionel Richie’s 'All Night Long' and 'I Want You Back' by The Jackson 5, helping to secure victory for the pair.
Be prepared to feel amused and totally creeped out all at the same time.
On Thursday night’s edition of ‘The Tonight Show’, host Jimmy Fallon unveiled what has got to be the creepiest of all the creepy duets. In the pre taped skit, Jimmy and five (yes five!) identical Jimmy Fallon waxworks give a hilarious, if yet totally disturbing rendition of the Beach Boy’s 1965 classic ‘Barbara Ann’.
That's a lot of Jimmy Fallons
The skit begins with Jimmy answering a call from his mom as The Beach Boy’s classic plays as his ringtone. "Hey Mom!" the host says. "They just dropped off my wax figures from Madame Tussauds. It's amazing. The details, everything, it looks just like me.”

The comedian refused to break character during his late night talk show appearance.
You'd be forgiven for being a little confused by Will Ferrell’s appearance on last night’s edition of ‘The Tonight Show’, after all host Jimmy Fallon also seemed pretty perplexed by the comedian’s choice of costume. Ferrell appeared on Fallon's sofa dressed as Little Debbie's snack cakes mascot, Little Debbie and refused to break character during his interview, which was meant to be promoting new movie Get Hard.
Will Ferrell looked slightly different on last night's edition of 'The Tonight Show'
Wearing a blue check dress, a white apron, black patent shoes, white ruffle socks and with a curly brown wig under his straw hat, Ferrell gave no real explanation for his choice of attire, as host Fallon looked on baffled.
‘The Voice’ judge channelled her fellow ex-Mouseketeer when she stopped by ‘The Tonight Show’ sofa on Monday.
Christina Aguilera might be about to make her return as a judge on NBC singing competition ‘The Voice’, but the pop diva proved she has more than a few ‘voices’ in her repertoire, when she appeared on Monday's edition of ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'. The host challenged Xtina to a game of ‘Wheel of Musical Impressions’ while on his sofa, but Fallon probably wasn’t expecting his guest to be such an expert mimic.
Christina Aguilera could have fooled us with her Britney impression.
Aguilera was first challenged to sing the "Folgers Coffee" jingle in the style of her Burlesque co-star Cher, which she managed perfectly. Then Fallon’s turn came, where he delivered a pretty impressive impression of David Bowie, if he were to sing ‘You're a Grand Old Flag’.
The pair pulled their best dance moves on 'NYC Fan Dance Cam' sketch.
Taylor Swift 'reminisces' with Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show' about their Jumbotron dancing moments in a hilarious sketch as part of his one year anniversary in hosting the show. Prepare to be amazed; there's some serious choreography going on right there.

The 'Shake It Off' sensation is genuinely becoming everyone's favourite party guest these days. Following her rocking rendition of her aforementioned hit single with Sir Paul McCartney and Jimmy Fallon during 'Saturday Night Live' 40th anniversary celebrations, she joins the latter on 'The Tonight Show' in a spot of exuberant dancing.
