Sixties singer Jimmy Cliff's backing singer has been rushed to hospital with a stab wound, following a fight over a TV remote control.
The violent dispute erupted over the volume of the television on the tour bus en route to a gig in the Hamptons area of New York state.
A saxophone player reacted by pulling out a knife and stabbing the backing singer, forcing other group members to step in and separate the warring pair.
The injured singer was taken to nearby Southampton Hospital, but was later released and given the all-clear to perform with the reggae legend at the scheduled concert.
Cliff - who had hits with WONDERFUL WORLD, Beautiful People in 1969 and WILD WORLD in 1970 - assures fans, "We're all cool now."02/09/2004 17:13
