He took to Twitter.com to tell fans, "In case you haven't heard the news, Jimmy Chamberlin will be rejoining us on drums for @marilynmanson tour. Expect sonic fireworks."

Corgan adds of the reunion, "You can't just grab somebody and say, 'Play drums on this Smashing Pumpkins song.' Jimmy's drum parts are so incredibly technical and nuanced that it's a very rare class of people that can step in and play."

Former Pumpkins Star Rules Out Reunion

Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan Jimmy Chamberlin

Former Smashing Pumpkins star JAMES IHA has ended months of speculation about his part in the group's reunion tour by insisting he won't rejoin the band.
The guitarist claims he's too busy working on the independent record label he founded in 2002 after the Pumpkins split to consider dates with former bandmates Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin.
He says, "I'm not part of the current Smashing Pumpkins album or tour, I haven't spoken to Billy in years. I'm writing for a solo record, which I'm going to record this year, and working on my indie label Scratchie Records."

LATEST: Reformed rockers Smashing Pumpkins will return to performing live this summer (07) after announcing two European festival dates.
The cult group will headline Germany's Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals in early June, according to the band's website.
The shows mark the group's first live appearances since they split in 2000.
The band, comprised of original frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, are expected to announce further dates in the coming weeks.
Corgan announced plans to tour and record a new album on his MySpace web page.

Corgan Confirms New Album And Tour

Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan Arcy Wretzky Jimmy Chamberlin

Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan has confirmed the band will release a new album and tour later this year (07).
The TODAY singer posted a message on his MySpace web page announcing the band's plans, but did not say whether or not founding members JAMES IHA and D'Arcy Wretzky would be joining him and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.
Corgan wrote, "This year for us will see a new album of songs and a world tour of tears, and we truly look forward to playing again for fans young, old and missed.
"Tunes are being dusted off, while others are being asked to kindly submit to an upstart millennia and all it's asking.
"When we opened the lid on this music box, we were pleasantly surprised at the music that played: familiar yet unknown, welcoming but not sentimental."

Pumpkins Start Work On Their First Album For Seven Years

Smashing Pumpkins Queen Billy Corgan Jimmy Chamberlin Arcy Wretzky

Reformed rockers Smashing Pumpkins have begun work on their first album in seven years, according to a post on the group's official website.
The short message confirms the group is in the studio with producer ROY THOMAS BAKER, who is best known for his work with theatrical rockers Queen and the DARKNESS.
But the website posting doesn't reveal the new Pumpkins line-up. Only frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin are confirmed in the line-up.
The four-piece split acrimoniously in 2000, but Corgan offered fans hope last summer (05) when he took out a full-page ad in the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times newspaper announcing his plans to reform the group.
It is not known if guitarist JAMES IHA and bassist D'Arcy Wretzky have been welcomed back to the line-up.
