The Oscar-winning film - which sees Jim Henson's creatures on the big screen for the first time since 1999 - has been a huge hit since being released and now original co-writer Nick Stoller and director James Bobin are working on a new script.
It is not know whether fellow co-writer and star of the first movie Jason Segal will be involved in a major role although it is thought he will play some part in the next adventures of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.
Jason is a huge fame of the first film and thinks its ''the coolest thing ever''.
The 'How I Met Your Mother' actor said: ''I was just so excited for people to see it finally. I couldn't be more proud of the movie. I'm so excited for it to come out. Even to have a few clips today, to finally have it out of the edit suite and to give people little bits and bobs - it's the coolest thing ever.''
The 31-year-old old star plays Gary, who works alongside Mary (Amy Adams) to raise $10 million dollars to save the Muppet Theatre from Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), who wants to demolish the building to drill for oil.
