Jim Carrey's daughter has split from her husband after just one year of marriage.

Jane Carrey - who has a nine-month-old son Jackson Riley with spouse Alex Santana - has vowed to remain friends with the Blood Money rocker for the sake of their little boy.

Marleah Leslie, spokesperson for the actor, said: "The couple will remain friends, as well as devoted parents to their nine-month-old son, Jackson Riley."

The couple welcomed their first child into the world just three months after they tied the knot in December 2009, and Jim was delighted to have become a grandfather.

He tweeted at the time: "Jackson Riley Santana, My Grandson, Born today! This is what 7lbs.11oz. of California dynamite looks like!"

The 48-year-old actor - who split from Jenny McCarthy after five years of dating earlier this year - recently admitted he now can't imagine life without the youngster.

He said: "I love being granddaddy, granddaddy Jim. It's very odd, it's not something I expected at this age to be.

"I just get a lot of joy, a lot of joy from that little boy . he's just magical. It's the greatest feeling in the world and as you get older . your connection to these things gets so intense ... you just go, 'Without this, I die.' "
