After years of speculation, it looks as though Jim Carrey will be reuniting with his half-witted side kick Jeff Daniels to take on the roles of the seriously dumb (and dumber) Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne once more.
The as yet untitled sequel to 1994's Dumb and Dumber is down for a 2013 release date, with both stars said to be ready to start the mayhem once a revised and freshly polished script is ready. The Farrelly Brothers, Peter and Bobby, are said to already working on a script and are supposedly in the finishing stages of it now.
Doubt had been placed over the participation of Carrey, who apparently dropped out of the project earlier this year due to his dissatisfaction with the progress the film was making. However, according to his co-star Daniels, he is back on board and raring to go.
Daniels spoke to reporters at the Tca's this week whilst he was promoting his new show, The Newsroom, but whilst there he digressed a little on what progress the sequel is making.
He said reassuringly that "Jim [Carrey] wants to do it, I want to do it, the Farrellys want to do it," before adding "I think there's more hope than ever".
