Comedians Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, Adam Sandler and ROSEANNE have all given veteran funnyman Rodney Dangerfield a boost following his heart surgery, by paying him visits.

The 82-year-old star has enjoyed a parade of recent visits from fellow comic stars at California's UCLA Medical Center.

Dangerfield is conscious and in stable condition but has remained hooked to a respirator in the intensive care unit since undergoing a heart valve replacement operation on 15 August (04), according to publicist KEVIN SASAKI.

Dangerfield is making progress and "his full recovery is expected soon", but there was still no indication when he might be able to go home, says Sasaki.

Several of Dangerfield's old friends, including Carrey, Roseanne, ANDREW DICE CLAY, Louie Anderson and Bob Saget, have stopped by to cheer up the man who helped launch their careers at his Manhattan, New York, nightclub.

Dangerfield underwent double-bypass heart surgery in March of 2000 and had an operation three months later to correct an aneurysm.
