Actor Jim Carrey has topped a poll of the Top Ten Money-Making stars of 2003 in an annual survey of cinema operators in America.

Carrey scored a box-office smash hit with the comedy Bruce Almighty, which grossed over $240 million (GBP141 million) in America alone.

OSCAR-winning actress Nicole Kidman finished second, followed by JACK NICHOLSON, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe, Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell and Renee Zellweger.

Conducted every year since 1932, the QUIGLEY poll asks owners to vote for the 10 stars who generated the most box-office revenue for their cinemas.

Ashton Kutcher and Scarlett Johansson were named 2003's Stars of Tomorrow - the actor and actress who are most likely to be the top money-makers in the years to come.
