Hollywood funnyman Jim Carrey returned to his native Canada last night (23JUN04) to unveil his star on Toronto's Walk Of Fame.

The BRUCE ALMIGHTY star brought his daughter JANE to the unveiling on Simcoe Street outside the ROY THOMSON HALL, along with fellow honourees DIANA KRALL, hockey hero MARIO LEMIEUX and Kiefer Sutherland's actress mother SHIRLEY DOUGLAS.

An over-excited Carrey told fans, "When I come back here I always have that same feeling. That feeling of lightness, that feeling of home. I couldn't have done it without you."

Carrey paid tribute to his late father PERCY, naming him "the funniest man on Earth".

He said, "He had to be. His name was Percy. It helped."

Posthumous awards were given to Hollywood legends LOUIS B MAYER, MACK SENNETT, Jack Warner and Toronto-born silent-film actress Mary Pickford.
