IRIS star Jim Broadbent is amazed he lost out on the role of tragic French monarch MARIE ANTOINETTE to KIRSTEN DUNST - because he's already played the part in drag.
OSCAR-winning Broadbent frequently starred as Antoinette in a two-man comedy production for London stage company THE NATIONAL THEATRE OF BRENT, and was hoping director Sofia Coppola would select him for the coveted role in her upcoming movie.
Broadbent, 59, jokes, "I don't know why she didn't come my way. She probably saw my performance, though, and based the character on my version."30/03/2005 13:49
