Funnyman Jim Belushi is fronting an educational campaign about gout after struggling with the debilitating medical condition for years.
The Blues Brothers 2000 star has revealed he first sought medical treatment after the problem began interfering with his career.
He says, "When I first developed gout, I didn't want to do anything about it. I thought I could tough it out; but when the pain became too unbearable for me to perform on stage, I saw a rheumatologist (internal medicine specialist) and got my gout under control."
And now he has detailed his battles with the condition in a pair of new ads for the Check Out Your Gout campaign in order to prevent fans from suffering the same fate.
He adds, "I am taking part in the Check Out Your Gout campaign to let people know that gout is a very painful condition that should be taken seriously."
