Country star Jewel underwent an emergency Caesarean section last year (11) after her doctor became concerned about the singer and her unborn baby during a routine check-up.
The 37 year old gave birth to Kase, her first child with rodeo star husband Ty Murray, in July (11), and she has now opened up about the trauma surrounding the tot's arrival.
She tells website Celebrity Baby Scoop, "It did not go according to plan! I was hoping to have a natural birth and I ended up having an emergency C-section just after a routine check-up at the doctor's office.
"So I wasn't in labor or anything, they just wanted him out. And it ended up being fine. We have a happy, healthy boy and that's all that matters."
Jewel now admits she is unsure whether she will have another baby, adding: "I'm 37... and I didn't get pregnant easily. I feel like I'm a little 'long in the tooth' as they say in the country. And I don't know if I'm going to push it yet or not. We're going to have to wait and see."
