Jessie J has finished recording her second album.

The 'Do it Like a Dude' singer has been busy preparing the follow up to 2011 debut 'Who You Are', and the album and first single are both ready to release.

She tweeted: ''So in the last 10 days. I shot my first video. Finished my 2nd album. Shot the album cover and have seen the first edit of the first single!

''Now to finish production. Mix it. Master it. Put it on a CD...and share it with all u amazing heartbeats [fans]. Not long now! :) (sic).''

Just days earlier, Jessie said she had not rushed to complete the record because she wanted to ensure it sounded right.

She wrote: ''Music is art. There is no time limit no rush no way of making it fit a time plan. It's freedom and it's passion and its moments (sic).''

Although Jessie has remained tight lipped about her second album, she has tweeted some lyrics, writing: ''We could of quit but we choose to dance, best believe it #album2. Everyone dies but not everyone lives #album2 (sic).''

Jessie - who is also a judge on UK TV show 'The Voice' - also said she is enjoying teasing her fans about the new material.

She wrote: ''Mystery is so rare now, most music is leaked these days. I am enjoying the build-up to my second album.

''It's as exciting as the first time round, I want to remember every second of it.''
