Jessica Szohr will take on the female lead in new teen comedy movie 'Owned'.

The 'Gossip Girl' actress will star as a high school student who causes trouble by trying to blackmail her neighbour with a compromising video when she joins a new school only for him to become popular as a result, according to Variety.

'American Pie 2' director JB Rogers will helm the picture from a script written by Jim Freeman.

'Owned' will be co-produced by Ted Field and Amy Halvorsen from Radar Pictures and Dobre Films' Christopher D'Elia and Michael Klein.

Jessica's big screen credits include 'Fired Up' and 'Piranha 3D' where she teamed up with former adult movie star Riley Steele, Kelly Brook, Jerry O'Connell, Elizabeth Shue and Richard Dreyfuss for a sexy remake of the 1978 cult killer fish film

Riley said: "Me and Kelly go out in a boat and basically try to get innocent Jessica to become a wild girl. So, I'm basically playing myself!

"Then all these piranhas attack and everyone starts dying. A huge piranha eats through my head and comes out of my mouth. The death scene is in 3D, eating through our faces, everything."
