Jessica Simpson's parents will both be involved in her upcoming wedding.

The 33-year-old singer is set to marry Eric Johnson - with whom she has children Maxwell, two, and 10-month-old Ace - in Santa Barbara, California in July and has asked her mother, Tina Simpson, to take on the role of Maid of Honour with her younger sister, Ashlee.

A source told Us Weekly magazine the blonde beauty's father Joe, whose divorce from Tina was finalised last year, will walk her down the aisle even though have had a complicated relationship in recent years.

But Jessica is determined her wedding will be nothing like the ceremony she had with her ex-husband Nick Lachey and doesn't want to wear a traditional white dress.

An insider said: ''Jessica is having something unique made. It will be very different from the Vera Wang she wore to wed Nick

Jessica - who got engaged to Eric, 34, in November 2010 after five months of dating - recently admitted her plans have been progressing and she is ''very close'' to issuing invitations for her nuptials.

She said: ''We are very close to sending out our invites. I've been very picky on how I want everything to look and feel. Eric's family alone is almost 90 people, so it'll definitely be a big event.''7
