Jessica Simpson's dad has wished his daughter a ''lifetime of joy and happiness'' in her new engagement to NFL player Eric Johnson.
Jessica Simpson's dad has wished his daughter a "lifetime of joy and happiness" following her engagement.
Joe Simpson - who is also the star's manager - took to social networking website twitter to express his good wishes for the singer-and-actress following her revelation she is set to wed NFL star Eric Johnson after six months of dating.
Joe tweeted: "So very happy for Jess and Eric. May they have a lifetime of joy and happiness."
Jessica's father was not the only member of her family to use twitter to congratulate her on her engagement.
Her sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz posted: "Congrats sis, on you're happy engagement with Eric :) love ya!
Everyone wish Jessica Simpson a happy engagement today! (sic)"
Jessica - who was previously married to Nick Lachey - was given a ruby-and-diamond engagement ring by 31-year-old Eric on Thursday (11.11.10), which she showed off while promoting her Jessica Simpson Collection fashion line in Kansas.
The 'Come On Over' hitmaker began dating Eric in May, three months after the sportsman filed for divorce from stylist Keri Johnson.
News of Jessica's engagement comes just weeks after her ex-husband Nick announced he is set to marry his current partner, Vanessa Minnillo.
Jessica previously hinted she wanted to marry Eric, 31, and have children with him.
She said recently: "I am from the south so I've definitely dreamed of being married my whole life and having children, so hopefully that's in my future."
