Jessica Chastain is in talks to star in 'Iron Man 3'.
The 'Help' actress is said to have returned to negotiations for the film - which stars Robert Downey Jr. in the titular role - and she has been offered a leading role as a sexy scientist who could be a match for the lead character, according to Deadline.
Jessica is currently working on Katherine Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty', about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, and she is also set to star alongside Joel Edgerton in double feature 'The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby'.
The filming schedules for both projects are now said to have been worked out.
Should the Jessica sign up for 'Iron Man 3', the flame-haired beauty - who was recently named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people of the year - will join Robert, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle in the motion picture, which is directed by Shane Black.
Robert will next appear as Iron Man in 'Avengers Assemble', which is released on Thursday (26.04.12) in the UK.
