Jesse Spencer's family has finally accepted his decision to choose acting over medicine - because he ended up playing a doctor in hit U.S. show HOUSE.
The Australian star was always aiming to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming a real life medic, but he was side-tracked by acting.
And Spencer is convinced his family is now happy about his latest role - because he is playing a doctor onscreen.
He says, "My father's a GP (general practitioner), my eldest brother is an ophthalmologist, my other brother is an orthopaedic surgeon and my sister just got into anaesthetics. I was aiming to go to university, then go to med (medical) school but I realised I could make a better living from acting. It's turned out all right and I'm still a doctor!"
