Jerry O'connell and the original cast of 'Stand By Me' reunited in Los Angeles today (18th March 2011).
Jerry O'Connell, the American actor and star of the iconic eighties movie 'Stand By Me', reunited with the rest of the movie's cast to launch a new Blu-ray Dvd earlier today.The much-loved coming-of-age movie, based on the novella by Stephen King, followed a group of friends who set off on an adventure to find the body of a boy killed by a train. The reunion featured O'Connell, Corey Fedlman, Wil Wheaton, director Rob Reiner and Richard Dreyfuss, who narrated the movie. River Phoenix, who starred in the film and went on to become one of the most promising actors in Hollywood, died of a drug overdose in 1993. The movie also featured an appearance from a young Kiefer Sutherland.
Jerry O'Connell, who played the chubby bullied boy 'Vern' in the film, has since had success in television series' such as 'Sliders'. He is currently starring in the drama series 'The Defenders' with JIM BELUSHI.
