Actor Jeremy Jackson, formerly a star on ‘Baywatch’, was reportedly arrested over the weekend in connection with a stabbing. Jackson was taken into custody on Saturday for assault with a deadly weapon over an incident in the Westlake neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Friday, according to the LA Times.

The troubled actor, who played Hobie Buchannon in the popular ‘90s TV show, is suspected of fleeing after stabbing a man in the upper torso. Police attended the scene on Friday and sent the man to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, according to LA police Detective Joe Rios. However, the victim identified his attacker as ‘Hobie’.

On Saturday, police received a call concerned about a possible prowler in the same area. Rios said the officers intercepted the man, realised it was Jackson and made the connection to the incident the previous day and arrested him. He was bailed later the same day.

Jackson is arguing that he acted in self-defence, according to TMZ on Monday (April 27th). He claims that the victim was a Canoga Park gangbanger who had pulled a gun on him in an attempt to rob him, and that he reached for a buck knife in his pocket and then stabbed his would-be attacker through instinct.

Jackson has had a turbulent time over the last ten years. Back in 2005, he was arrested and cautioned for setting up a meth lab in his home. Having battled alcohol dependency for years, he appeared on ‘Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew’ in 2011.

In January 2015, Jackson appeared on ‘Celebrity Big Brother UK’, but after four days of the show he was removed from the house after he exposed fellow contestant Chloe Goodman’s breasts. Hertfordshire Police later confirmed that they had given him a caution for common assault.
