Bosses of Jenny McCarthy's upcoming TV series THE BAD GIRLS' GUIDE have decided to delay its release - because they don't want to compete with hit talent show American Idol.

The pilot of the blonde beauty's show will air later on in the year (05), to avoid competing with Idol, which has been a consistent ratings juggernaut since its 2002 arrival in the US.

McCarthy says, "They're really counting on this, so I'm hoping I don't let them down.

"We just talked to the network and they love the show so much that they're trying to figure out how to platform it correctly so that everyone can watch.

"They don't want to throw it on right now because of American Idol. So we're thinking either a summer launch or early fall."
