Jennifer Lopez is close to agreeing a deal to become a judge on the hit US show American Idol. TMZ.com is reporting that the singer and actress has not overwhelmed Fox executives with her contractual demands, meaning a deal could be done as early as next week. Back in August, People Magazine quoted a source as saying, "Her demands got out of hand. FOX had just had enough", however, it now looks likely that a deal will be done and Lopez could be joining Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the singing contest.
It seems FOX have been pursuing a number of potential new judges as of late - just last month, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was tipped to replace the outgoing Simon Cowell and Ellen Degeneres on the panel, but the deal never came to fruition.
If the 41-year-old Lopez does join American Idol, she will be juggling the show with numerous other projects she's involved in. In March 2010, it was confirmed that the singer had signed with Def Jam Recordings, and is currently working on new material for her much-anticipated new album, entitled 'Love?' She's also set to begin filming the action thriller, 'Double Or Nothing'.
