Jennifer Lopez's twins stay in touch with their father through Skype.

The singer-and-actress split from Marc Anthony in 2011 after seven years of marriage and she admits the situation is ''tough'' for their four-year-old kids Max and Emme but they do their best to make the situation better by using the online video chat service so they can see each other.

She said: ''They obviously miss him but they Skype with him a lot and between here and there he tries to make time to see them.

''It's tough for all of us, but it's just the way it is - we take it day by day and so far we're getting along OK.''

Jennifer - who is now in a relationship with Casper Smart - credits the twins for helping her to stay strong in the aftermath of her marriage break up.

She added to HELLO! magazine: ''Your kids are the number one thing. They give you a certain strength, because when you're around them you cannot fall apart.

''You have to be a strong person when you're with them all day, and then once they fall asleep you can maybe have a little pity party for yourself. But then the next morning it's back to being, 'Everything's fine and normal.' ''
