Jennifer Lopez was left red-faced after Jay Leno showed old footage of her as a backing dancer on his show.

The 41-year-old 'American Idol' judge appeared embarrassed when the talk show host played a video showing her in an unflattering jeans and jacket combo as she danced with boyband New Kids On The Block.

During her appearance on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' Jennifer talked about the job, saying it seemed like a "big deal" at the time.

She said: "My first job was in Europe which was a big deal and then when I came back I got a job as a backing dancer for the New Kids On The Block.

"I got this job dancing for them on the American Music Awards and it was a big deal. That was a long time ago."

However, when Jay played the clip the superstar - who was on the show to talk about her seventh album 'Love?' - appeared mortified and hid her face behind her hands before laughing uncomfortably.
