Jennifer Lopez broke down in tears as she personally made Jeremy Rosado her wild card during the crunch American Idol show on Thursday (March 1, 2012). Lopez and her fellow judges were tasked with whittling down the Top 25 contestants to just 13.
After the automatic choices were told by Ryan Seacrest they had received enough viewer votes to progress, Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler were asked to choose one wildcard choice each. The 42-year-old judge broke down in tears after Jeremy Rosado sang his heart out performing Carrie Underwood's 'I Know You Wont'. He told the judges, "This is my dream, man. I may not have been able to show you guys on Tuesday what I can do but I promise you if you do this for me, you won't regret it". After announcing him as her wildcard pick, Lopez could barely speak, saying, "'I believe in this kid. I believe in Jer Bear. I think he's got one of the most beautiful voices I've heard". Justifying her pick, Lopez added, "It's true that we're looking for the full package, but at the end of the day, I believe Jeremy has it". Rosado subsequently ran over to the judges table and gave J'Lo a huge hug.
