Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is expecting twins, her father has confirmed.
The Jenny from the Block star announced her pregnancy during a concert in November last year, after her bump grew increasingly noticeable.
And talking to Spanish-language show Escandalo TV, her father David has said the 38-year-old and husband Marc Anthony are expecting two children, according to People en Espanol.
"Yes, twins," he said. "The thing is in my family, my sister also had twins, so it's a hereditary thing."
"I'm very proud. Jennifer has yearned to be a mother for many years," he added.
Rumours that the star of Out of Sight might be expecting twins were sparked in December 2007, when she was snapped shopping for matching baby clothes for a boy and girl.
According to the New York Daily News newspaper, Lopez ordered blue and pink babygrows adorned with Prince and Princess, two Moses baskets and teddy bears with blue and pink ribbons from the Petit Tresor baby boutique in Los Angeles.
The babies will also be receiving a gift from their grandfather, he revealed in his TV interview.
"In Puerto Rico, it's custom to buy an azabache [black stone] bracelet for babies to protect them from the evil eye, it's part of our culture."
