Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she has dyed her famous blonde locks brown. The decision was made to fit her new role as the heroine Katniss Everdeen for the film adaptation of best-selling dystopian book 'The Hunger Games' by SUZANNE COLLINS.
Whilst some fans of the books had initially been upset that Jennifer Lawrence had been cast for the role, Lawrence reinforced her commitment towards the movie when appearing on the David Letterman Show yesterday (20 May 2011) for the first time. Whilst the movie has been dubbed by many as 'the new Twilight', Lawrence explains that 'The Hunger Games' is nothing like its smash hit predecessor. She told Letterman: 'We don't suck blood, that's sick. It's not a vampire deal. It's a violent futuristic movie where kids are readily selected from their home district to fight in an arena to the death.' Lawrence initially had tough competition for the role, beating out stars such as Hailee Steinfeld and Emma Roberts for the part.
Jennifer Lawrence was nominated for an Oscar this year for her role in indie movie 'Winter's Bone'. She is set to appear as Mystique in the new 'X-Men: First Class' movie, set for release 1 June 2011 in the UK.
