Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence was left mortified after a hotel maid discovered a stash of sex toys under her bed.

The Hunger Games actress was recently gifted a box of bedroom aids by a pal, and she decided to hide them under her bed in a hotel suite before a cleaning lady called.

However, she was overcome with embarrassment when she returned to her room to find the items all on display on a bedside table.

Explaining the incident to U.S. Tv host Conan O'Brien on his chat show on Wednesday (18Dec13), she says, "It's a long story. I had a copious amount of butt plugs. Tons of butt plugs. All different kinds of colors.

"The maid was coming so I was like, 'Well I'll just shove this under the bed so she doesn't see all these butt plugs. She might not know they are for a joke.'

"Then I came back and all of them were brought out of the bed and were in this beautiful display on my bedside table. I think she knew what she was doing. They were under the bed. I wanted to leave a note like, 'not mine' or 'bought as joke'."
