The Hunger Games franchise officially comes to an end on November 20, 2015 with the release of Mockinjay Part 1, though Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has confirmed that the studio is "actively looking at some development and thinking about prequel and sequel possibilities" - which translates to "actively looking at ways to milk that cash cow some more."

Mockingjay Part 1Jennifer Lawrence [L] and Josh Hutcherson [R] could potentially return for new Hunger Games movies

The movies starring Jennifer Lawrence have already been expanded from three books to four films, with the first three having grossed over $1 billion dollars worldwide. Though the studio would be keen to hang on to the talents of Lawrence - one of the most popular actresses in the world - it's likely that any prequels would feature a fresh line-up of stars.

Feltheimer also revealed that Mockinjay Part 2 will be digitally remastered for IMAX 3D when it hits theaters on November 20.

"Fans will now have the chance to see the film in any format they want, which is exciting," director Francis Lawrence said in a statement. "We recently saw the 3D version of 'Mockingjay - Part 1' before its release in China, and the new level of immersion was really fantastic."

Elsewhere, it has been announced that Discovery Times Square will host a six-month exhibition beginning on July 1 that will feature "high-tech interactive galleries, never before seen content (and) hundreds of costumes and props," and Feltheimer also divulged that the studio is participating in "significant conversations" with at least one theme park to develop a Hunger Games attraction.

"It's kind of a no-brainer," he said.
