Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox are to reunite on screen for the first time since their hit sitcom Friends finished in 2004.

Although they were the best of friends as Rachel Green and Monica Geller in the long-running show, their reunion on Cox's sitcom Dirt is set to be more hostile.

Aniston is to guest appear as a rival tabloid editor No Doubt a role she will relish after the numerous rumours printed about her by the media.

"We're shooting this Thursday I can't wait," Cox told People magazine.

"We'll have a ball. We're just going to have fun."

Last week Cox admitted that Aniston was itching to have a role on the programme.

"Jennifer loves the show," Cox said. "She's already like, 'What am I going to do?'"

Dirt airs on the FX network and is co-produced by Cox's husband David Arquette.

Cox stars as ruthless tabloid editor Lucy Spiller who will stop at nothing to get all the most scandalous gossip about celebrities.
