Despite not being nominated for her role in 'Cake,' the 45-year-old actress is still part of the prestigious award ceremony.
Many movie fans were shocked when the nominations for this year's Academy-Awards were announced, and Jennifer Aniston's name was missing. After her critically acclaimed performance in 'Cake,' she was expected to be a favourite for a Best Actress nod.
Aniston will present an Academy Award
The 45-year-old actress, however, was not announced as one of the contenders for the Best Actress Oscar, and as she already received Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Critic's Choice nominations, Aniston is now considered one of the biggest snub in this year's movie award season.
The nominated actresses were Marion Cotillard, Rosamund Pike, Felicity Jones, Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore.
'Cake,' which was released on January 23rd, sees Aniston convincingly portray Clare Simmons - a woman who suffers from chronic pain after a car accident.

But this doesn't mean the 'Friends' alum still can't be part of the prestigious ceremony. On Tuesday (Feb 10th), The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that she would be presenting one of the Oscars.
Interestingly enough, one of her fellow presenters happens to be 'Selma' star David Oyelowo, who was also snubbed for his performance as Martin Luther King Jr., which made many people question the lack of diversity within this year's nominations. All 20 nominees in the major acting categories are white.
