The actress dropped in on the show to insist she give it up.
Jennifer Aniston stopped by 'Saturday Night Live' last week to pay a surprise visit to star Vanessa Bayer, and insist the latter stop her exaggerated impersonation of Aniston's 'Friends' character Rachel. The pair star together in the upcoming Paramount comedy 'Office Christmas Party'.
Jennifer Aniston pays a visit to 'Saturday Night Live'
Aniston joined her Christmas movie co-star and 'SNL''s Colin Jost for their 'Weekend Update' news sketch on the show on Saturday (December 3rd 2016) as they talked about the popularity of 90s revival shows like 'Fuller House' and 'Gilmore Girls'. Naturally, given that 'Friends' was one of the most watched shows of that decade, Vanessa Bayer tried out her Rachel impression, complete with that iconic haircut and those dungarees.
'Yeah, y'know the 90s are great, y'know, you go to work uh... uh... you go on dates and uh... you go to cafes with your friends and you all sit facing camera! Yeah!' Bayer said as Rachel, taking advantage of the character's habit of vocal exclamations, hesitations and high-pitched inflections. Just as she was mid-flow with the vocal grimmickry, Jennifer Aniston appeared looking less than impressed.
'Can you just- can you just drop that for a second?' She said. ''Friends' was like 5 million and 5 years ago so I think we've just got to move on.' When Bayer went to disagree, insisting that she does this 'great bit' as Rachel, Aniston had something to say about that.

'Is it a great bit though? I mean, it kinda just sounds like all you're doing is like, 'What?... Oh!... What? Me?... Oh, wow!... No!... I never... What? Yes!'' She said, imitating Bayer, who tries to join in. 'What? No! That's not what I do! Vanessa, honey, no! I don't do that... What? No!'
Vanessa Bayer has been doing her Rachel impression on 'Saturday Night Live' for quite some time, and it's one of her most popular parodies along with Jacob the Bar Mitzvah Boy, Rebecca Stern-Markowicz, Breckie and Laura Parsons.
