Supergirl is an adaptation of the DC comis of the same name. The series follows the adventures of Kara Zor-El A.K.A. Kara Danvers A.K.A Supergirl, played by former Glee star Melissa Benoist. Supergirl is the cousin of the more famous superhero, Superman, and she is also hiding in plain sight in the human world. Living in National City, Supergirl is forced to embrace her powers to become the superhero she was always meant to be.

Supergirl and Dewan’s characters may be at odds for a while as Lucy Lane has a history with Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), the former Daily Planet photographer, who is the love interest of Supergirl.

Dewan-Tatum is set to first appear in the third episode of Supergirl. The first episode will air on CBS on Monday 26th October so it’s expected Dewan will be on our screens by mid-November.

Dewan, who rose to prominence when she starred in Step Up, has mainly been cast in television roles over the past few years. Dewan had a starring role in Lifetime’s Witches of the East End from 2013-2014 and appeared in a guest role in The Mindy Project last year.

Dewan and her husband, Channing Tatum, are certainly keeping to a comic book theme in their work life. Last week, after months of speculation, Tatum officially signed up to star in the X-Men spin-off, Gambit

THR first reported the news.
