Rapper and entrepreneur Jay Z is branching out even further, and this time he is taking on the video game industry with the next NBA 2K release (2K13), for which he will serve as executive producer on the game.
The co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets had his new business venture unveiled yesterday when a new video featuring the song 'Public Service Announcement' from the rapper's 2003 release The Black Album, was released and his website, Life + Times, published a statement confirming the partnership.
It is still unclear what Hova's contributions to the game will consist of, but given his huge international stature then having his name somewhere on the game will certainly help put NBA 2K13 in the glare of publicity. It also could mean the Roc Nation Ceo will be having some impact on what the game's soundtrack sounds like, which can't be too much of a bad thing either.
The game is set for an October 2nd release and will also be released alongside a special 'Dynasty Edition' (possibly named after Jay-Z's The Dynasty album) that will feature a whole host of goodies and special features with it.
In other Jay-Z-related basketball news, the rapper was recently named as director of Brooklyn's Barclays Arena, where his team Brooklyn Nets will play as of the new season.
